Nine electrical taxis will roam the streets of the town, named soon after the trial itself, WiCET (Wi-fi Charging of Electric powered Taxis).
WiCET is a demonstration task funded by the United kingdom Business office for Zero Emission Motor vehicles (OZEV), as a single of Innovate UK’s portfolio of on-road wi-fi charging (OSWC) tasks.
The etaxi fleet will consist of five plug-in hybrid LEVC TX taxis and 4 all-electrical Nissan Dynamo taxis, all bearing the message “This electrical taxi will cost wirelessly.”
